MBUSI welcomes grant proposals from eligible non-profit organizations. Priority will be given to those organizations in Tuscaloosa County, Jefferson County, and the State of Alabama.

Organizations defined by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as an organization to which tax-deductible charitable contributions can be made (501 C3). Appropriate tax exempt evidence must accompany this application.

Organizations that do not have tax-exempt status under Section 501 C3; Individuals or organizations acting on behalf of specific individuals; Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, or gender; Religious, fraternal, political, athletic, social or veterans organizations.

  • project's goals and objectives
  • activities for which you seek support
  • projected impact of your project
  • how the results will be measured
  • how your project may be used by other organizations who wish to meet similiar needs
  • any previous support from MBUSI
  • organization's current audited financial statement
  • copy of your most recent determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service showing your organization's tax-exempt status
  • list of organization's current Board of Directors
Only one copy of your proposal is required.
